My Journey with CFS

Nutrition. Love. Healing.

Powered by Blogger.
So far, January has been a good month for me. Alot of people have been asking about returning to my studies - thank you to everyone for asking.

It is a part-time course and the lectures are during the weekends, my first weekend was at the beginning of Jan. To say I was very nervous is an understatement, I wasn't sure if I was going to be well enough to manage and cope with the physical and mental effort it would take.
I was so excited and proud I managed both full days 10-6PM of lectures. It was so fun, I loved being back with like minded people and my mind is a sponge when it comes to nutrition, I am fascinated by it and its healing properties and how it can play a huge part in recovery.
Between study weekends, I have alot of assignments to be doing and revision for an exam in March.

I've generally been feeling better all round, I am reading more because my mental capacity is able to cope more.
My course has boosted me to cook more healthy again and to be focusing on eating the right wholesome foods to aid my personal recovery.
I think everyone in the UK has had some snow this past couple weeks, we got alot. I was well enough to go out with the dogs and throw balls, mess about, had a snowball fight with some of the kids on the estate.

My sister, Hannah had a week off work so we were able to get away up to the Lake District and stayed in a Spa hotel we love and have been to alot. We just totally chilled, I went swimming (haven't done in over a year) yeah OK it was two lenghts but its a start!! We got a massage & steam/sauna, ate some good food. I went for a small walk down along the lake next to the hotel, I love to be around nature and in the fresh air.

These past two weeks I have had two emotional moments where I am literally very taken aback and I have to take a little time to compose myself. It's a very thankful, grateful time where I thank God of how far I have come recently. I had a very bad relapse in November/December and I lost hope for a while, understandably.
I am proud to say I am a hugely determined & motivated person, I will always fight this illness to be the best I can be, however many times it knocks me down. That cannot be said lightly it's a huge huge challenge.
With the people around me, I have managed to get up and move onto the next chapter... who knows what that will bring for me.

I am very lucky to have a handful of these special people

I'm done with New Years Resolutions - I find them too cliche because if something in your life needs changing, change it anytime of the year.

Instead I have set myself a list of goals I would love to achieve in 2013 & some things to be working towards.

I am so excited to be going back to studying. I cannot wait to be in student mode and learning more about nutrition starting January

I want to join a yoga/meditation class

Continue to learn the piano

Drink more Champagne

I would love to do some volunteer work, maybe just one morning/afternoon a week to begin

I have always wanted to visit New York so I am saving for that and perhaps later in the year depending on my health I hope to book a last minute trip. So excited for that, I want to do everything there!!

My best friends have all moved away now to Leeds & London & this year I really want to visit them & see their worlds

Focus on my health has to be my main focus. There is nothing more important that than to me

Continuing to grow as a Christian

Grow my hair long again

Make sure 2013 is better than 2012!!

 Happy New Year people :)
Here's to 2013

Bekz xoxo
